Relay / Working brand system 03

Quiet system.
Clear signal.

EngineDeck builds the company brain a customer keeps. The brand makes that new idea easy to understand, then proves it through useful work, visible ownership and a calm product.

01 / Brand idea

Build the company brain you keep.

EngineDeck connects what a business knows, how work gets done and why decisions were made. That owned context can work with EngineDeck today and different AI tools as the market changes.

Public promise

Your company brain. Yours to keep.

Name the lasting asset, then explain it immediately. Never make the reader guess what the metaphor means.

Operating principle

The system prepares. A person decides.

Every important result shows what was checked, what is waiting and what happened next.

02 / Message order

Name the asset. Explain it in one breath.

The first read must answer four questions: What is the company brain? What does it do today? Do I own it? How do we start?

Lead with

Build the company brain you keep.

This is the differentiator. Keep it short and attach ownership to the first sentence.

Then explain

It connects what your business knows, how work gets done and why decisions were made.

Do not lead with operating layers, agents, models or infrastructure.

Then ground it

Start with one repeated task and make it useful now.

Show a Tuesday problem before expanding into the long-term platform story.

Then prove

Use it here, back it up and keep the underlying records.

Portability must be demonstrated in the product before it becomes an unconditional claim.

03 / Color

Warm neutrals do the work. Violet gets attention.

Color has a job. It should never be sprayed across every component just to make the page feel designed.

Public pages

Violet guides the eye.

Use it for the main action, section signal, active public navigation or one full-bleed brand moment.

Client product

State color means state.

Orange means a person is needed. Mint means checked or healthy. Violet marks location, not system health.

Limit

One punch per view.

Most of the system stays ink, stock and paper. If everything calls for attention, nothing does.

04 / Type

Human on the outside. Systematic on the inside.

Instrument Sans carries the public story. IBM Plex Mono carries product navigation, status, source names, versions and time.

Instrument Sans

Build the company brain you keep.

Use clear nouns, simple verbs and enough space for the message to breathe.

Public body type: 17 to 22 px. Public display: 44 to 96 px. Avoid tiny footnotes and long centered paragraphs.

SCHEDULE CHECKED 14:29
WORKFLOW VERSION 2.4

Client body type: 12 to 14 px. Labels and metadata: 10 to 11 px minimum. Never reduce important information to decorative microtype.

05 / Hierarchy

Every view gets one point, one proof and one next action.

The page should read before it decorates. Avoid walls of cards, repeated pills and equal-weight sections.

Owned company context

Build the brain one useful workflow at a time.

Start with work the business already does. Each source, decision and result adds to an asset the company keeps.

Build the first piece
01

Use scale before decoration

Make the main sentence unmistakable. Supporting copy should never compete with it.

02

Prefer ledger rows to card walls

Rules and rows feel like a working record. Cards are reserved for a real grouping or decision.

03

Keep alignment hard and consistent

Use left alignment, strong edges and repeated baselines. Avoid floating elements and tilted mockups.

04

Give sections room

Public pages use broad margins and long pauses. Client screens are denser but never cramped.

06 / Client product

Functional over pretty.

The client area behaves like a calm control panel. It shows what needs attention, what is working and what changed. It does not perform for the user.

Use one flat content plane, visible rules and readable type. Elevation is reserved for a drawer or modal. Orange is never decorative. Mint never means marketing success.

07 / Voice

Talk to an owner, not an AI conference.

Calm, direct and concrete. Never make the reader feel late, dumb or responsible for knowing the vocabulary.

Use

Plain and useful

  • The company brain you keep
  • What your business knows
  • One repetitive task
  • The tools you already use
  • Use the AI you choose
  • Start with useful work

Avoid

Insider language

  • Managed operating layer
  • Bounded agentic workflow
  • Named authority boundary
  • Source-of-record orchestration
  • Autonomous AI employee
  • Portable brain ball of gold

08 / Relay mark

One color in daily use.

Relay is the working identity. It carries continuity, connection and forward motion without turning into a technology symbol.

Use Deck Ink on Warm Stock or Paper White on Deck Ink. A spectrum version may appear only as a large digital display object. Do not use brushed metal, chrome, glass, glow, brains, robots or network imagery. Relay remains provisional until legal clearance and real favicon tests are complete.
